Job Description
Landmark Services of Southwest Inc. is seeking dependable, hardworking Pipe Laborers to join our underground utility construction crews.
This position involves hands-on field work assisting with the installation of water, sewer, storm drainage, force main, and other underground utility systems. We are looking for individuals who are comfortable working outdoors, working around heavy equipment, and performing physically demanding construction work.
Previous underground utility or pipe experience is strongly preferred, but we will consider motivated candidates with construction experience who are willing to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist pipe crews with installation of underground utility systems.
- Assist with installation of:
- Water mains
- Sanitary sewer
- Force mains
- Storm drainage
- Manholes, inlets, structures, and related utilities
- Assist with trench preparation, bedding, pipe placement, connections, backfill, and compaction.
- Handle and position pipe, fittings, tools, and construction materials.
- Assist pipe layers and equipment operators during installation.
- Use hand tools, power tools, compactors, pumps, and other construction equipment.
- Help establish and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Perform excavation cleanup and grade preparation.
- Assist with locating utilities and exposing existing utility crossings.
- Install trench protection, shoring, barricades, and other safety equipment as directed.
- Follow instructions from the Pipe Foreman and Superintendent.
- Help load, unload, and organize materials and equipment.
- Perform general construction labor as needed to keep the crew productive.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
Qualifications
- Underground utility or pipe construction experience preferred.
- General construction experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of water, sewer, storm, or force main installation is a plus.
- Ability to safely work around excavators, loaders, backhoes, and other heavy equipment.
- Ability to use basic construction hand and power tools.
- Must be able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a crew.
- Must be dependable and report to work on time.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in Florida weather conditions.
- Must be physically capable of lifting, carrying, bending, climbing, shoveling, and performing demanding construction work.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- CDL is a plus.
- OSHA certifications are a plus.

Candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to learn will have opportunities to advance into positions such as Pipe Layer, Equipment Operator, and Pipe Foreman.

Schedule
- Full-Time
- Monday through Friday
- Overtime may be required.
- Occasional weekend work may be required depending on project schedules.
