Chesapeake Classic Restorations is seeking an experienced Metal Fabricator to join our growing restoration team.
We specialize in classic vehicle restorations, restomods, custom builds, and high-end automotive craftsmanship. This is not a production fabrication shop. Our work requires precision, patience, problem-solving, and pride in creating quality craftsmanship that lasts.

Responsibilities
- Perform metal fabrication on classic vehicles, restoration projects, and custom builds
- Repair, replace, and fabricate vehicle panels and structural components
- Complete rust repair, including floor pans, rocker panels, quarter panels, patch panels, trunk floors, and other structural repairs
- Weld, cut, grind, shape, and finish metal components to restoration-quality standards
- Fabricate custom brackets, mounts, supports, and specialty components for restomod and custom vehicle projects
- Fit and align body panels to achieve proper body lines, panel gaps, and structural integrity
- Work closely with the paint, body, mechanical, upholstery, and assembly teams
- Identify structural concerns and recommend appropriate repair solutions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Produce workmanship that consistently meets Chesapeake Classic Restorations' quality standards
Qualifications
- Previous automotive metal fabrication or welding experience required
- Experience with classic vehicles, restorations, custom builds, or hot rods preferred
- Strong knowledge of MIG and TIG welding, cutting, grinding, shaping, and sheet metal fabrication
- Ability to fabricate, repair, and finish metal components with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to custom restoration work
- Ability to interpret project direction and execute repairs accurately
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, dependable, and committed to producing quality work
- Positive attitude and pride in craftsmanship
Preferred Experience
- Classic vehicle restoration
- Rust repair and structural panel replacement
- MIG and TIG welding
- Sheet metal fabrication
- Floor pans, rocker panels, quarter panels, trunk floors, and patch panel installation
- Custom fabrication of brackets, mounts, supports, and structural components
- Experience in a restoration or custom automotive shop
