Make a meaningful impact supporting students’ growth and well-being as an onsite School Social Worker for a local elementary school serving grades K–5. This contract assignment begins August 12, 2026, and runs through November 4, 2026, with the potential to be extended. You’ll work full-time, Monday–Friday from 8:00 AM–3:35 PM, providing your expertise in a vibrant, collaborative school environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois School Social Work (SSW) License and Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Prior experience working as a School Social Worker in an educational setting
- Deep understanding of child development and strategies for elementary-age students
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct social/emotional and behavioral support services to elementary students (K–5)
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies
- Conduct student assessments and provide crisis intervention as needed
- Help promote positive classroom relationships and a healthy school culture
- Maintain accurate records and participate in regular meetings with education teams
- Advocate for student needs while promoting equity and access to resources
