Job Summary
Metropolitan Veterinary Academy is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Part-Time General Education Instructor to teach foundational general education courses that support student success in our veterinary programs. This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about teaching, fostering critical thinking, and preparing students for academic and professional achievement.
The General Education Instructor will create an interactive learning environment, provide meaningful feedback, and help students develop the communication, analytical, and academic skills necessary for success in the veterinary profession.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned general education courses (lecture and/or hybrid formats)
- Deliver engaging instruction using a variety of teaching methods
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom activities
- Evaluate student learning through assignments, quizzes, exams, projects, and participation
- Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student records
- Provide timely feedback, academic support, and office hours as needed
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional classroom environment
- Adhere to institutional policies, accreditation standards, and academic procedures
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to support student success
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in the teaching discipline or a closely related field, with a minimum of 18 semester credit hours of coursework in the subject area to be taught.
- Previous teaching, training, or presentation experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning management systems
Preferred:
- College-level teaching experience
- Experience working with career or technical education students
- Online or hybrid teaching experience

Pay: Based on experience
