Job Overview
The Youth Development Professional plays a vital role in fostering the growth and development of young individuals through engaging programs and activities. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about working with adolescents, providing them with a safe and engaging environment. The Youth Development Professional will work closely with students to support their educational, social, and emotional needs while promoting positive behaviors and life skills.
Location - The Boys & Girls Club Teen Center (The Club @ ACE).

This is a new site dedicated to our members who are in 6th grade and up.
Duties
- Plan, implement, and supervise age-appropriate activities that promote learning and personal development.
- Provide guidance and support to youth in various settings, including after-school programs, sports activities, and educational workshops.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to address challenges and encourage positive interactions among participants.
- Foster an inclusive environment that accommodates diverse backgrounds and abilities, including those requiring special education support.
- Collaborate with parents, educators, and community members to enhance program effectiveness and student success.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to first aid protocols and ensuring all safety measures are followed.
- Monitor participants' progress and provide feedback to help them achieve their individual goals.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current on best practices in youth development.
Qualifications
- Experience working with students in educational or recreational settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with tutoring methods and techniques that enhance learning outcomes for youth.
- Skills in sports coaching or physical activity facilitation are advantageous.
- Understanding of behavior management strategies to effectively support youth in various situations.
- Certification in first aid is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- A genuine passion for educating and nurturing young minds through engaging activities.
