The Fall Creek School Age Program (FCSAP) is seeking fun, reliable, creative, enthusiastic and compassionate after school staff to join our team! FCSAP provides quality childcare for families with children in Kindergarten - 5th grade at Fall Creek Elementary School in Ithaca, New York.
FCSAP is made up of dedicated professionals with a passion for serving kids in the community. Our joyful, kid-driven, play-focused program provides children with healthy snacks as well as both structured and unstructured activities. We offer arts and crafts and other specialty interest activities such as sewing, chess and gardening. Organized sports and team-building games are offered regularly.
We are seeking individuals who can bring their unique skills and interests to the program to enhance the lives of kids. Our program honors the values of Safety, Honesty, Acceptance, Respect, and Kindness (SHARK).
The program runs Monday - Friday from 1:30 pm - 5:30 pm during the school year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have at least 1 year of experience working with children ages 5 - 11 (required)
- Must be at least 18 years old and willing to undergo background checks including fingerprinting (required)
- Must abide by New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) regulations (required)
- Must abide by regulations set forth by the Centers for Disease Control, Department of Health and Tompkins County Health Department in response to the COVID-19 pandemic (required)
- Must be team-oriented and have excellent communication skills
- Must be a self-starter and able to adapt to changing circumstances
- Must be reliable, responsible, punctual and exercise good judgment in order to establish and maintain a safe and healthy program environment
- Bachelors or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Special Education, Physical Education or a related field (preferred but not necessary)

Salary: $19.00 per hour
Schedule:
- After school (1:30 pm -5:30 pm)
- Monday through Friday
License/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (Preferred but not required)
- CPR Certification (Preferred but not required)

Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children in the After School program
- Implement classroom management techniques to ensure a safe and productive environment
- Provide tutoring and support to students as needed
- Utilize behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions
- Incorporate elements of early childhood education into daily activities
- Demonstrate effective communication skills with both children and parents
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for all program participants
- Come prepared daily to supervise outdoor play in various weather conditions and seasons.
- Utilize first aid and CPR skills when necessary
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan and implement educational and recreational activities
- Support children in their social, emotional, and educational development through various activities and programs
