Summary Description:
The quality technician will interact with all functional organizations in the facility and be responsible for ensuring achievement of plant operational targets as defined in our annual operating plan. The quality technician must possess a core understanding of the quality processes and systems in which they are assigned, inputs / outputs, and demonstrate the ability to learn as well as to instruct and develop other peers. The quality technician is responsible for leading and instructing process operators on the critical to quality characteristics involved in the specific job functions and responsibilities of the operators and personnel in every area. They will be involved in day to day operations and continuous improvement activities. The quality technician is responsible for communication / interaction with the other departments in the plant in order to satisfy and serve the operations. The quality technician will identify opportunities for improvement and ensure follow up, will enforce internal and external customer satisfaction, and support the plant with that goal in mind. The quality technician will support the development and sampling of new products or changes from the quality standpoint. The quality technician will report to the Quality Director, but they will also receive cascaded information and assignments from the Plant Manager.
The quality technician will cover the following quality assurance and control processes and systems:
- Laboratory Testing
- Metrology / Dimensional Verifications and Analysis
- Statistical Process Control / Capability for Product and Process Characteristics
- Quality Management Systems Auditing
- Gaging Calibration / Measurement Systems Analysis
- New Product Development Support
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives and Projects
KNOWLEDGE
· Associate’s degree in an industrial or manufacturing technology field or equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree with quality background is preferred.
· 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing environment (preferably foundry).
· Microsoft Office computer applications
· Knowledge in Statistical Process Control (SPC)
· Knowledge or exposure to ISO 9001 quality systems or equivalent.
· Customer service experience is preferred

Pay: $23.00 - $23.25 per hour
