Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and supporting financial reporting processes. Duties
- Prepare, analyze, and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting standards such as GAAP and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and bank statements with precision using accounting systems like QuickBooks, , Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment management via or ADP, and collections
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities by performing account analysis and preparing financial reports
- Assist with internal controls and audit procedures by maintaining detailed documentation of transactions and supporting schedules
- Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining high standards of data entry accuracy using tools like Excel data analysis, spreadsheets, and accounting software
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, financial forecasting, and cost analysis projects to enhance financial decision-making
Skills
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles along with experience in public or corporate accounting environments
- Proficiency in financial software such as QuickBooks, , Sage, PeopleSoft, , UltiPro, Kronos, or similar systems
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel for data analysis, spreadsheets management, and report generation
- Excellent understanding of technical accounting concepts including journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, account reconciliation, and general ledger management
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation accurately under tight deadlines
- Strong numeracy skills complemented by meticulous attention to detail in data entry and bookkeeping tasks
- Effective communication skills for customer service interactions with internal teams or external auditors
