AIRCRAFT ASSEMBLY MECHANIC
Position Overview
An aircraft assembly mechanic puts together and installs free fabricated aircraft parts to manufacture fixed wing aircraft or aircraft sub-assemblies according to detailed engineering specifications. The Aircraft Assembler must read and interpret aircraft assembly diagram; then The Aircraft Assembler must assemble and fit prefabricated parts to form sub- assemblies, working at benches or directly on an aircraft structure. The Aircraft Assembler assembles fits and installs prefabricated parts and sub – assemblies such as aircraft skins, flight controls, reading, hydraulics and other mechanical systems.

Essential Job Functions:

Maintain the shop in a clean and organized manner.

The Aircraft Assembler puts together and installs prefabricated aircraft parts.

The Aircraft Assembler must be capable of following detailed engineering specifications.

The Aircraft Assembler inspects each job upon completion to make sure that it is completed in accordance to specifications.

Performs assigned tasks with minimal supervision.

Performs routine support equipment inspections and maintains and performs necessary corrective actions to include unscheduled maintenance.

Operates assigned aerospace ground support equipment as required.

Selects appropriate tools and equipment required to complete assignments.

Complies with all company, OSHA and customer safety regulations.

Follows all safety procedures and practices as established by the Company.

Repairs, reworks and replaces components or parts to ensure proper operation.

Assure that all required forms and documents are properly filled in and signed after maintenance work completion.

Ability to understand aircraft work instructions, maintenance manuals, and any other aircraft related documentation.
Requirements:

Must have own tools.

Ability to remain calm, cool, and collected in stressful situations.

Ability to be patient and objective in difficult situations with different types of people.

Proven ability to work independently with minimal direction.

Three to five years’ experience in aircraft assembly preferred.

Ability to read, write, and understand the English language and to follow verbal and written instruction.
