Since its founding in 1978, Cincinnati United Contractors (CUC) has continued to be one of Southwest Ohio’s premier design/build commercial contractors. Among the builders at CUC is a seasoned concrete foundation crew that builds all of the foundations for our projects.

Duties
As a member of CUC’s concrete crew, you will be responsible for all aspects of on-site concrete foundation construction. The ideal candidate will be a motivated and experienced Commercial Concrete Tradesman with strong equipment operating skills who is ready to develop into a Foreman role. This position is best suited for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, leads by example, and wants to build a long-term career in commercial concrete construction.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all phases of commercial concrete construction including site preparation, excavation, receiving/unloading/staging materials, formwork installation/removal, rebar placement, concrete placement and finishing, joint installation, backfill, and cleanup.
- Safely operate construction equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, telehandlers, forklifts, power trowels, and other job-specific equipment.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, layout plans, and grade elevations.
- Maintain high standards for quality, productivity, and workmanship.
- Work efficiently to meet project schedules while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Assist with daily planning, crew coordination, and material management.
- Mentor less experience crew members through hands-on leadership.
- Identify, communicate, and resolve field issues before they affect production.
- Professional behavior and communication with co-workers, other tradesmen, suppliers, supervisors, project managers, and customers.
- Maintain equipment through routine inspections and proper operation.
- Ensuring a safe work environment by complying with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 5+ years of experience in commercial concrete construction; structural concrete experience preferred.
- OSHA-30 certified.
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment operation (specifically skidsteer, mini-excavator, hoe/loader, dozer, & tow motor).
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and layout drawings.
- Strong understanding of commercial concrete forming, placing, finishing, and curing practices.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Strong work ethic with dependable attendance.
- Ability to lift and carry 50-100 lbs.
- Ability to be on one’s feet for hours at a time and navigate uneven terrain.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Flexibility for changing tasks and assignments.
- Willingness to travel to multiple project locations.
- Fluent in English.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with foundations, structural concrete, sidewalks, pavement, and slabs on grade.
- Equipment maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
- Knowledge of ADA compliance and commercial flatwork a plus.
- Previous experience leading small crews a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
