As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a key part in optimizing purchasing processes, fostering vendor relationships, and contributing to cost-effective procurement strategies that support production planning and merchandising initiatives.
Duties
- Manage end-to-end purchasing activities using SAP
- Source suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure the best pricing, delivery terms, and quality standards for materials and services.
- Collaborate with vendors through direct negotiation to establish strong relationships and ensure timely fulfillment of orders.
- Utilize ERP systems and spreadsheets for data analysis related to procurement trends, inventory levels, and pricing strategies.
- Oversee inventory control processes, including monitoring stock levels via MRP (Material Requirements Planning) tools and managing logistics for inbound shipments.
- Support procurement activities related to sourcing, contract management, and vendor relationship management within supply chain management frameworks.
- Assist in production planning by coordinating purchasing schedules aligned with manufacturing needs and merchandising timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier communications while ensuring compliance with company policies.
Experience
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles within manufacturing or supply chain environments.
- Extensive familiarity with SAP
- Strong background in materials management, inventory management, logistics, and supply chain coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze Excel data for pricing trends, inventory levels, and procurement metrics.
- Skilled in vendor communication, negotiation tactics, and vendor relationship management to secure favorable terms.
- Knowledge of sourcing strategies including direct negotiation procurement and e-commerce platforms.
- Experience working with contracts, procurement software solutions, accounting software integration, and inventory control systems.
