Activities Assistant

About the Role
As an Activities Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating and implementing recreation programs tailored to the unique needs of our residents. Your duties will include planning and executing activities, developing individual plans of care, and contributing to the development of our monthly calendar. You will also be responsible for monitoring inventory and ensuring that our recreation therapy supplies and equipment are in good condition.
Responsibilities
Plan and execute activities tailored to the dementia specific population, including small groups, one-on-one sessions, and sensory stimulation
Develop and implement group and individual activities to address participants' cognitive, physical, social, and artistic needs
Assist in creating written plans of care for each participant's activities program
Contribute to the development of the monthly calendar
Monitor inventory of recreation therapy supplies and equipment
Assist with special events and activities as needed
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in recreation activities is strongly preferred
Preferred experience in long-term care or geriatric programs
Strong communication, written, organizational, and conflict management skills
Ability to work independently and adapt to change
