We are seeking an experienced Sales & Catering Manager to be responsible for generating and managing sales opportunities for both corporate groups and leisure event bookings. This role involves handling inquiries, building relationships with clients, coordinating event plans, and launching events. They will ensure a seamless event lifecycle from client communications, booking, and collaborating across multiple departments to deliver memorable experiences to clients and their guests.
The Sales & Catering Manager contributes to revenue growth by maximizing sales opportunities and maintaining client satisfaction. Compensation: Salary $65,000 - $80,000 plus commission
Responsibilities
- Proactively solicit, build, and strengthen relationships within corporate group sales seeking opportunities through various sales channels and working to build long-term value-based customer relationships.
- Respond to RFPs, prepare proposals and upsell each business opportunity to maximize revenue potential.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and expectations for conferences and events.
- Assist with servicing your events to ensure clear communication across all departments and all parties, including the clients. understand the event requirements.
- Conduct site tours for clients as needed and provide personalized service and support throughout the event planning process, from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients and the resort, ensuring clear communication and understanding of event requirements.
- Prepare all Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and develop detailed event timelines, floor plans, and seating arrangements, ensuring all logistical aspects are meticulously planned and executed.
- Provide oversite of event execution to monitor and evaluate the quality of services provided during events. Address any concerns or issues raised by clients in a timely and professional manner, and strive to exceed their expectations and ensure overall satisfaction.
- Provide personalized service and support throughout the event planning process, from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.
- Represent the Company and our brand with a positive attitude and professional presentation.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of Luxury Group Sales and or Luxury Event experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a hotel/hospitality setting.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the demands of the job. Weekend work is expected.
- Passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to members and guests.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and vendors through various platforms, including phone and email.
- Proficiency with sales and catering software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant computer applications.
- Knowledge of audiovisual equipment, catering services, and other event-related services and technologies.
- Travel to industry-related trade shows will be required.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, event planning, or related field is preferred.
- Prior club experience a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for the duration of the shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.
- Exposure to repetitive motions related to computer work, including prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Work environment includes both indoors and outdoor venues throughout the property in all four seasons and various weather conditions.
