Job Summary
Senior MITS Specialist supports and maintains remote, virtual and cloud-based systems infrastructure, including the implementation and design of hardware and software. Analyzes, develops, modifies, tests, maintains, and supports the integrity of the hardware, virtualization layer, operating system environment and various applications. Administers, installs, and troubleshoots a variety of applications to include databases. Installs, configures, and, supports systems maintenance tasks, such as system back-up, recovery, and file maintenance. Supports deployment, and testing of system software upgrades. Configures software and resolves technical problems. Monitors and maintains software licensing and maintenance agreements. Participates in on-call support for managed systems including nights, weekends, and holidays. Travel required as necessary. Reports to the manager of Managed IT Services. The Systems Engineer contributes to complex aspects of a project. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature.
Duties
- Supports system administration of 200+ Azure VMs, production customer Hyperconverged deployments.
- Responsible for technical operations and service asset and configuration management IAW ITILv4 framework.
- Create and maintain service design packages and as-built documentation.
- Establish and maintain monitoring for availability, capacity, and security.
- Makes recommendations and implements improvements following change management procedures.
- Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing system performance and trends.
- Participates in troubleshooting and resolving incidents. On-call support is required for production systems and critical test servers.
- Completes platform installation, upgrades, and migrations.
- Responsible for installation and release of databases as submitted by the development teams.
- Participate in problem management process by completing root cause analysis.
Requirements
- BS degree in engineering/computer science or relevant experience in customer production environments.
Desirable:
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ -800&801)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
- ITILv4 Foundations
- Agile/Scrum experience, Azure administration
- Warehouse and logistics operations
- Kubernetes / Docker
- 1+ years experience with MS-SQLServer administration
- 5+ years Hyper-V/S2D
- 2+ years configuring network switches
- 3+ years System administration in Linux
- 5+ years Microsoft Server
- 3+ years deploying and managing container applications
Pay: $70,000.00 - $89,000.00 per year
