The Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist serves as a key leader within the Aspirus enterprise supply chain, responsible for driving systemwide cost optimization, supplier performance, and value‑based decision‑making. The role independently manages complex categories of medical devices, supplies, or services by leveraging advanced analytics, market intelligence, stakeholder engagement, and strategic negotiation.
In this senior capacity, the Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist leads high‑impact sourcing initiatives across multiple facilities, develops 3–5‑year category strategies, and ensures continuity of supply through proactive risk management. The position functions as a subject matter expert across the sourcing team, providing guidance, clinical alignment leadership, and support for enterprise contracting and standardization efforts.
In addition, the Sr. Specialist ensures compliance with all assigned contracts while maximizing utilization and maintaining quality standards. The role delivers project leadership and sourcing expertise to cross‑functional and cross‑divisional teams, shaping sourcing direction, improving supplier performance, and advancing systemwide value and efficiency.

Experience/Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field required.

Master’s degree (MBA/MHA/MS‑SCM) preferred.

Professional certification preferred (CPSM, CMRP, CSCP, Lean/Six Sigma).

Ability to travel domestically up to 20%.

5+ years (7+ preferred) in strategic sourcing, category management, or supply chain, ideally in healthcare, or direct experience in a clinical care setting.

Proven track record delivering multi-million savings or equivalent enterprise value.

Experience leading multi‑site, cross‑functional strategic initiatives.

Experience negotiating multi‑million‑dollar contracts with understanding of key legal, financial, and performance components.

Expertise in spend analytics, data interpretation, and opportunity identification.

Experience with supplier performance management, including QBRs/EBRs and corrective action plans. Deep experience executing complex eRFx initiatives
