Armed Security Officer – Peoria, IL

Compensation: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, Part-time
Expected Hours: 40+ per week
State Protection Service, Inc. is currently hiring qualified, professional Armed and Un-Armed Security Officers for immediate positions in Peoria, Illinois. We are looking for reliable individuals who want to build a long-term career in the security industry and grow with our team.
Responsibilities:
- Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle
- Monitor and secure premises, property, and personnel
- Respond to incidents, emergencies, and suspicious activity
- Write clear and timely incident reports
- Follow specific post orders and client instructions
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance in uniform at all times
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid PERC Card (required)
- Valid FOID Card (required)
- Completed 20-hour Illinois state-mandated training
- Completed IDFPR Firearms Training (If Armed)
- Reliable communication device (e.g., cell phone)
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
- Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
Preferred (but not required):
- Experience with dispatch or reporting software
- Law Enforcement experience
- Security Experience
