Head Trainer - Independent Contractor
Position Type: 1099 Independent Contractor
Location: Virginia Beach - Hilltop, VA
Schedule: 18 camps per week minimum, 15-20 hours per week admin work
About the Opportunity
Burn Boot Camp Virginia Beach - Hilltop is looking for an experienced and energetic trainer who is ready to lead our team in a greater capacity as a Head Trainer. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can deliver an exceptional experience to all our members and uphold Burn Boot Camp's high standards.
This is a 1099 independent contractor position, with the Head Trainer serving as the primary fitness authority and program driver for our location
Training Responsibilities

Train a minimum of 18 camps per week, demonstrating training effectiveness and professionalism
- Responsible for the focus meeting strategy and execution plan that aligns with Burn Boot Camp philosophy
- Build relationships with members and foster community engagement, with an emphasis on member retention
- Maintain visibility and communication within the community during non-camp hours
Administrative & Operational Responsibilities:

Coordinate trainer schedule and ensure coverage for all scheduled camps
- Track member attendance, engagement metrics, and program performance
- Execute a positive hiring and shadowing process for new trainers resulting in high retention. Deliver effective feedback for quality training.
- Participate and lead monthly Trainer meetings with the training team
- Meet assigned company objectives and goals on assigned KPI’s by effectively driving leads and sales
- Demonstrate leadership capability, program quality, and member engagement
- Manage fitness equipment inventory and maintenance reporting
- Content posting for private and public social media pages
- Represent Burn within the community through mutually beneficial partnerships and event planning
Requirements

Minimum 1 year of certified personal training experience
- Current nationally recognized certified personal training (CPT) certification. CPT certificate must be issued by an NCCA Accredited organization. In lieu of a CPT, the Contractor may hold a 4 year degree in Exercise Science related field of study.
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Contractor must possess the ability to pass the Burn Boot Camp Strength and Conditioning Assessment (SAC) in under 15 minutes upon contract start, and retest annually.
- Contractor must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.

Annual Base Rate (paid monthly) + commission & bonus opportunities
This is an independent contractor position. You will be responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and business expenses. No employee benefits are provided.
