Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and guide them to their tables with a friendly attitude.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality.
- Upsell menu items including wines, cocktails, and desserts to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
- Manage multiple tables effectively through excellent time management, ensuring prompt service for all guests.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, process sales using POS systems, and give correct change or receipts.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with food safety regulations; assist with bussing tables and resetting for new guests.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on wine pairings, spirits, and menu options to elevate the dining experience.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery.
- Engage with guests to foster positive relationships, handle any concerns professionally, and promote guest relations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, cocktail preparation, and food handling procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell menu items confidently.
- Proven time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
- Basic math skills for cashiering and sales transaction processing.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food preparation techniques.
- Experience in hospitality roles such as serving, bussing, or hosting/hostessing is highly desirable.
