Basic Ready-Mix is seeking a detail-oriented, fast-thinking Dispatcher to join our Calhoun operations team. This is a key role at the heart of our daily operations — the Dispatcher coordinates the scheduling and delivery of ready-mix concrete from our plant to job sites across the region, ensuring every load arrives on time, to the right place, with the right mix. Monday–Friday schedule (some Saturdays as needed)

Calhoun and Dalton office locations

Receive and process customer concrete orders, confirming mix design, yardage, delivery time, and job site details.

Enter all orders accurately into the dispatch system and generate complete delivery tickets for the plant.

Coordinate with CSRs and the Plant Manager to verify next-day orders and flag discrepancies before the shift begins.

Dynamically adjust truck schedules throughout the day to meet changing job site demands and pour windows.

Manage Will Call orders — do not dispatch until the customer's trigger call is received.

Assign and dispatch mixer truck drivers to job sites based on schedule, geography, and truck availability.

Monitor truck status in real time to maintain on-time delivery performance and maximize truck utilization.

Communicate driver start times, job assignments, and return instructions clearly throughout the shift.

Coordinate inter-plant truck swaps with Plant Manager and General Manager approval when needed.

Track and document driver hours, load counts, and yardage against daily performance goals.

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers calling to check on delivery status or make order changes.

Proactively notify customers and salespeople when a delivery is running behind schedule — never wait for them to call.

Resolve delivery conflicts, access issues, or load discrepancies quickly and professionally.

Support COD order management — confirm payment arrangements are in place before trucks are dispatched.

Maintain accurate daily dispatch logs including order details, driver assignments, delivery times, and any incidents.

Submit the COD log daily — even when there is no COD activity to report.

Assist with the Daily Operations Report and other morning paperwork as needed.

Ensure driver activity aligns with DOT hours-of-service guidelines and company policy.
KEY GOAL
Dispatcher performance is measured by on-time delivery rate, truck utilization (target: 4 loads/driver/day, 7 yds avg/load), and customer satisfaction. You are the link between the plant and the job site.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Strong communication skills — clear, calm, and professional under pressure.

Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-moving environment.

Basic math skills for tracking loads, yardage, and driver schedules.

Comfortable using computers, dispatch software, and phones simultaneously.

Reliable, punctual, and self-directed — this role requires minimal supervision.

Prior dispatching, logistics, or construction industry experience.

Familiarity with ready-mix concrete operations, batching, or delivery logistics.

Experience with dispatch or plant management software (GEN3, Command, or similar).

Knowledge of the local road network and job site access considerations.
Work Setting
Primarily office/dispatch desk at the Calhoun or Dalton plant facility.
Hours
Full-time, hourly. Weekdays required; occasional Saturdays during peak season.
Physical Demands
Primarily seated desk work; ability to remain focused and alert through a full shift.
Environment
Fast-paced, team-oriented. Exposure to radio, phone, and computer systems throughout shift.
Start Time
Early morning start required — plant operations begin before 7:00 AM.
