Bay Eye Clinic is seeking an efficient, hard-working, and friendly Ophthalmic Assistant to join our fast-paced medical team. About the Position
As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of data-collection functions as delegated by our physicians to ensure accurate professional diagnoses. You will play a vital role in patient flow, clinical documentation, and maintaining a high standard of medical care.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Care & History: Obtain comprehensive patient histories, including chief complaints, medical/ocular history, and current medications.
- Diagnostic Testing: Perform visual acuity, manual lensometry, confrontational visual fields, and applanation tonometry.
- Advanced Imaging: Conduct optic nerve scanning (OCT), corneal topography, and pachymetry.
- Clinic Flow: Manage patient triage, escorting patients between rooms, and ensuring a smooth transition to the physician.
- Documentation: Act as a scribe, documenting exam findings accurately in the patient record.
- Maintenance: Assist with instrument sterilization, troubleshooting equipment, and keeping exam rooms clean and stocked.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma (some college preferred).
- Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant is welcomed but not required. We provide training on the job.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
