American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro/PCU position requiring at least 2 years of experience, telemetry competency, and an active SC or Compact RN license.

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a 97-bed hospital setting with a Neuro/PCU focus
-
Night shift, 7p-7a, with the option of 3x12 or 4x12 schedules

Patient ratio of 1:4-5
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call responsibilities

Floating within scope to like units or sister facilities may be required

Charting via Epic

Royal blue scrubs required

Free parking on-site

Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be active prior to start

Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Telemetry competency required

SSN and Driver's License required for consideration

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the MUSC system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler

Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; local candidates are accepted on a case-by-case basis

All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; no additional PTO will be approved after accepting the assignment

Completion of pre-start online modules is required before the first day

Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
