Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment
- Handle various cleaning agents and chemicals safely, adhering to safety data sheets (SDS) and chemical handling protocols
- Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, and maintain floor care standards to ensure spotless surfaces
- Manage heavy lifting tasks such as moving furniture or large cleaning equipment safely with proper manual handling techniques
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with hotel housekeeping management procedures and industry best practices
- Use janitorial equipment effectively, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, mops, and other cleaning tools
- Follow hotel emergency procedures when necessary, ensuring safety for guests and staff at all times
Experience
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience in hospitality or industrial cleaning environments is preferred
- Familiarity with floor cleaning, sanitation practices, and the use of cleaning equipment is essential
- Experience handling chemical agents safely and knowledge of safety data sheets (SDS) is highly advantageous
- Strong customer service skills to address guest needs courteously and professionally
- Previous hotel housekeeping management experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, manual handling, and standing for extended periods is necessary
- Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures ensures readiness in urgent situations
