Job Summary
Kern Pacific Construction Company specializes in all phases of underground construction, including excavation installation, backfill and compaction for wet and dry utilities. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Underground Utilities & Grading Superintendent to oversee construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years experience in installation of wet and dry utilities for work on residential tracts. Requirements include knowledge in excavation, backfill and compaction of underground sewer, water, storm drain and dry utilities for residential, commercial and public works projects, will possess a strong background in construction management, with expertise in project scheduling, budgeting, and quality control. The Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the construction process are executed efficiently and safely, while maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all construction activities on-site to ensure adherence to project specifications and timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to coordinate schedules and resources.
- Review blueprints, schematics, and contracts to ensure accurate execution of the project scope.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality control, and compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Implement safety protocols and ensure all team members are trained in safe work practices.
- Provide leadership and guidance to on-site personnel, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process promptly and effectively.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction management with a strong understanding of project scheduling and management principles.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards within the construction industry.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
- Familiarity with pipeline projects is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsible for tracking and managing employee time and material on the job; completing daily safety inspections as well as weekly tailgate meetings. Must be able to meet deadlines and complete projects on time. Must be a strong leader and able to manage time and crew wisely. Requires a clean California Driver's License.
