Position Overview:
DC28 Dispatch LLC is a driver-focused, independent commercial motor carrier looking for an elite, disciplined Class A professional to join our local operations. We run a well-maintained, dependable 2018 Freightliner Cascadia tractor pulling dedicated loops directly out of the UNFI Distribution Center in Joliet.
Our truck will be permanently based and parked at a secure lot located nearest to our primary Joliet client compound, meaning you launch and finish your shift right at the immediate freight source with zero wasted daily transfer time. If you are an experienced driver living in the New Lenox, Joliet, Plainfield, or Crest Hill area, this offers a premium local route with a smooth, traffic-free personal commute.
Compensation & Bonus Structure:
We operate with absolute financial transparency and provide a highly competitive, reliable, and predictable daily rate structured to fit your professional background:
- Guaranteed Daily Base: $220.00 to $300.00 per day, depending on experience level, credentials, and structural profile.

Shippers experience lowest volumes mid-week, leaving your regular 2-day rest cycle mid-week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. We do not practice corporate forced overtime or mandatory call-ins on your rest days.
Daily Operations & Realities:
We don't hide the realities of local Chicago traffic corridors. While most runs are highly efficient and wrap up early, fluid delays at grocery receiver docks or street bottlenecks can occasionally extend a shift to a full DOT operational window.
Our routes serve a dynamic mix of local grocery retail spots. While many stops have dedicated commercial backing docks, certain urban locations lack formal loading ramps. At those sites, you will utilize your street experience to safely park curbside or on the roadside—strictly where legal parking is open and available—and lower the pallets smoothly to ground level using the liftgate.
On weeks when grocery volumes slow down, our asset pivots seamlessly to local power-only lanes and general freight through our network of premium brokers to ensure your weekly revenue remains completely stable, predictable, and continuous.
Job Requirements:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A)
- Valid DOT Medical Certificate
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with strong baseline safety habits
- High proficiency in backing and combination vehicle handling in tight suburban and urban delivery environments
- Absolute reliability, punctuality, and a safety-first "GOAL" (Get Out and Look) operational mindset
- Strong communication skills and direct peer-to-peer accountability (You deal directly with the carrier owner-operator, with zero corporate fleet managers or automated tracking algorithms)
