Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a keen eye for detail. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, supporting our chefs in delivering exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing as per the menu requirements.
- Clean and prepare meats and seafood as instructed by head chefs.
- Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chefs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, including proper storage of food items.
- Ensure all food preparation meets safety and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other food preparation tools.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a food service or restaurant environment is preferred.
- Strong knife skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques in food preparation.
- Knowledge of catering practices is beneficial but not required.
- Must be able to follow directions accurately and maintain high standards of quality.
