Warehouse Worker- Edison NJ

Position Summary
The Warehouse Distribution Worker is responsible for accurately receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping products. This position requires prior warehouse experience, forklift experience, computer proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced distribution environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Receive incoming shipments, verify products against purchase orders and shipping documents, and inspect for shortages, overages, or visible damage.
· Pick, pack, label, palletize, and prepare customer orders for shipment, ensuring quantities, products, packaging, and shipping information are accurate.
· Load and unload trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
· Safely move, store, and organize inventory in designated warehouse locations.
· Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with freight carriers, including LTL, FTL, and small-parcel shipments.
· Prepare Bills of Lading (BOLs), shipping documents, labels, and other required freight documentation.
· Schedule carrier pickups and customer or distribution-center delivery appointments and communicate shipment requirements or changes with carriers and internal departments.
· Monitor scheduled shipments and follow up with carriers as needed to help ensure timely pickup and delivery.
· Perform cycle counts and physical inventory counts, maintain accurate inventory records, and report discrepancies.
· Process damaged, returned, or incorrectly received merchandise according to established procedures.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse while following all company safety and forklift operating procedures.
· Assist with other warehouses, shipping, receiving, and distribution duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Prior warehouse or distribution-center experience is required.
· Prior experience operating a forklift is required.
· Ability to successfully complete and maintain company-required forklift training and authorization.
· Basic computer skills, including experience entering information into inventory, shipping, or warehouse-management systems.
· Ability to read and understand purchase orders, packing slips, shipping labels, and written instructions.
· Basic math skills and the ability to accurately count inventory.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
· Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, carriers, and other departments.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with shipping systems and small-parcel or freight carriers.
· Experience in performing cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
· Experience coordinating LTL and FTL shipments, including carrier pickups and delivery appointments.
· Experience using carrier websites, transportation portals, or customer routing/appointment systems.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
· Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
· Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.
· Ability to work in a warehouse environment that may include varying temperatures, noise, dust, and frequent movement of equipment.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
