American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with 2+ years of experience for a day shift travel position at an acute care hospital in Salem, VA.

Respiratory Therapy department in a 500+ bed acute care hospital
-
Day shift hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
-
Rotating weekend schedule
-
Procedures performed include HHN, CPT, BiPAP and vent management, and extubation
-
Equipment used includes EPOC Blood Gases, PB 840, Newport, ReVel, LTV, and V60 ventilators
-
EMR: Meditech
-
Day shift team consists of 6 therapists including a charge person
-
Floating required to CICU, SICU, MICU, and step-down units
-
13-week contract
-
Active RRT license and certification required; license required if applicable
-
Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
-
Active experience in the specialty within the last 6 months required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)

Proficiency in basic floor therapies including nebulizer treatments, CPT, nocturnal pulse oximetry, and ABG collection
-
BiPAP management skills required

Vent management experience preferred

ICU experience preferred

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)

No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Royal blue scrubs required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible for this position

NRP certification required if assigned to care for neonatal patients
