We're a small software company in the Upstate looking for a part-time person who is good with people and good with technology. Students welcome.
What we do: Sherpa Systems builds Sherpa Amp, an AI platform that runs social media marketing for small and mid-sized businesses. Real product, real paying clients, small team.
What you'd actually be doing:
- Serving as a point of contact for our clients, which means Zoom calls, emails, check-ins, and generally being the person they trust
- Helping put together proposals for new clients
- Running implementations: onboarding a new customer, getting them configured, and making sure everything works the way we promised
- Handling the technical side of that work yourself instead of handing it off, which means digging into settings, integrations, and troubleshooting when something isn't working right
- Using AI tools like Claude Code or Codex as part of your normal workflow
- Applying a good eye for design to the things clients see, from proposal decks to the pages we build for them
Who we're looking for:
- Someone comfortable talking to business owners and comfortable picking up new software quickly. Both matter here
- Studying computer science, marketing, business, or working on something similar
- Notices when a layout or a deck looks bad, and cares enough to fix it
- Self-directed. We'll give you priorities, not a script
- Detail-oriented enough to catch things other people skim past, so put the word CARABINER as the answer to your favorite tool
- Local to the Upstate and able to meet in person a couple of days a month
Why it's worth your time: this is a startup, so you'll wear a lot of hats. You'll see how software gets built, sold, delivered, and supported, and you'll have a hand in all of it. You'll work directly with the founders. That's experience you can't really get at a big company at this stage of your career.
Part-time, 5 to 15 hours a week depending on business needs, flexible around classes, with the potential to convert to full time. $20 to $25 per hour depending on experience. Primarily remote, with 2 to 3 days a month in person.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
