ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are an established, high-end dog care facility in Northern New Jersey, recognized as a premier destination for canine training, boarding, and care. Our programs are built on a foundation of structure, leadership, and an uncompromising standard of care. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and driven Pet Care Supervisor to lead our boarding operations and support our training programs.
This is a hands-on leadership role designed for someone who leads by example, communicates with clarity, and takes genuine pride in maintaining a safe, well-run facility. The right candidate will bring both practical animal care experience and a proven ability to manage and develop a team. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this position carries real responsibility and offers meaningful opportunity for continued growth within our organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee the day-to-day operations of boarding and related care programs, ensuring all facility standards are consistently upheld.
· Supervise, guide, and mentor Pet Care Technicians, providing clear direction and constructive feedback.
· Monitor the safety, health, and well-being of all animals in our care and respond appropriately to any concerns.
· Support training program operations as needed, collaborating with the training team to maintain program integrity.
· Ensure smooth shift transitions through thorough communication, accurate recordkeeping, and proper handoff protocols.
· Enforce facility policies and procedures, holding the team accountable to the high standards our clients expect.
· Assist in onboarding and training new team members, fostering a professional and supportive work environment.
· Report operational updates, staffing concerns, and any incidents directly to the General Manager.
· Serve as a calm, confident, and decisive presence on the floor, especially during high-volume or high-pressure periods.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum 2 years of experience in pet care, kennel operations, animal handling, or a related field.
· Minimum 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience in any professional setting.
· Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team within a structured, fast-paced environment.
· Calm, confident, and experienced handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments.
· Strong communication skills — clear, direct, and professional with both staff and management.
· Highly reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining consistency across every shift.
· Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and follow-through.
· Consistent weekend availability is required.
· Reliable transportation and the ability to commute to West Milford, NJ required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Prior supervisory experience within a kennel, daycare, veterinary, or animal care facility.
· Familiarity with canine behavior, body language, and safe dog handling protocols.
· Experience supporting or working alongside a structured training program.
· CPR or pet first aid certification.
