Who We're Looking For
Do you understand the price difference between raw and graded comics? Can you tell the story behind a first appearance, a key issue, or a rare variant and make a live audience need it in their collection? We're looking for high-energy, charismatic Livestream Hosts to headline our live commerce team and sell comics on camera every night.
This is a sales-first, on-camera role built for someone who lives and breathes comics — key issues, variants, slabs, and everything in between. If you thrive in front of a live audience, love the thrill of a bidding war, and can turn a longbox into a can't-miss event, we want you.
What You'll Do
- Host live comic auctions with big energy, sharp banter, and real hype — keeping a fast-moving audience locked in from the first bid to the last.
- Sell on camera in real time, presenting and explaining comics across eras and publishers — key issues, variants, graded slabs — plus Funko, Thrilljoy, Handmade by Robots, sports and trading cards, TCG, and more.
- Run the room on Whatnot and TikTok Live (and eBay Live), adapting your hosting and sales approach to each platform's playbook, with a relentless focus on engagement, audience growth, and hitting sales numbers.
- Know your books. Talk key issues, first appearances, print runs, grading, and market value in a way that builds trust and drives bids.
- Understand the value of comics. Know what a book is worth and why — condition, grade, rarity, demand, and market trends — so you can price with confidence, justify a bid, and protect margins on every sale.
- Prep and run clean broadcasts — product setup, audio/video checks, lighting, and a smooth, professional stream every time.
- Be the face of 7BAP as on-camera talent and brand rep, including at events and conventions (yes, that means SDCC and other cons).
- Create marketing content — photos, videos, and thumbnails using your likeness.
- Deliver post-stream recaps — audience feedback, what worked, sales highlights, and where we can grow.
What You Bring
- A genuine passion for comics — keys, variants, and the stories behind them. You're a collector or a fan at heart, and it shows on camera.
- A strong sense of what comics are worth. You understand how condition, grade, rarity, and demand drive value, and you can read the market to price and sell smart.
- Live-selling instincts. You get that this is a sales role and you're comfortable — actually excited — to sell hard on camera.
- Hands-on familiarity with TikTok Live and Whatnot live auctions. You know how these formats work, how bidding flows, and how to keep a live chat hyped and buying.
- A dynamic, magnetic personality. Confident on-camera presence, big energy, quick wit, and strong storytelling that turns a book's history into a sale.
- Speed and adaptability. You pick up new tools, platforms, and product categories fast and thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
- A team player's mindset. You collaborate easily with co-hosts and special guests and keep the vibe fun.
- Evening and weekend availability. Shifts typically run Wednesday through Sunday, with start times between 4:00–6:00 PM and end times from 10:00 PM–2:00 AM, depending on category.
- Flexibility for tentpole events — occasional extended hours for moments like SDCC week, big anniversaries, and major drops (always communicated in advance).
Prior live-selling experience is a big plus — but hunger, personality, and hustle matter most.
