A downtown Detroit CPA firm seeks highly motivated, hardworking applicants to join their team. A staff accountant must have accounting and, at a minimum, is expected to work on assigned segments of engagements, in some instances assuming substantial responsibility for small engagements; preparing to sit for the CPA examination (if not already passed) and be familiar with and utilize computer programs utilized by client service staff under supervision.
At least a bachelor’s degree; working towards 150 credit hours or master's degree in accounting, along with knowledge in planning engagements, developing a working relationship with clients, and demonstrating leadership and communication skills, both oral and written, are required for the position. Actively working toward passing the CPA Exam or relevant certification.
