Company Overview
We're a real estate consulting firm that supports owners through the full lifecycle of design and construction projects — from design, planning, and budgeting through construction and closeout. We're looking for a project manager with an architecture background to work directly with the firm's principal across multiple client accounts, with a clear path to leading major accounts over time.
This is a role for someone who can sit on the owner's side of the table and speak the language of design: translating between architects, contractors, and ownership, catching scope gaps before they become change orders, and reviewing design and construction drawing sets with a critical eye.
What You'll Do
Planning & Design Phase
- Review drawings, proposals, and design documentation to evaluate alignment with project scope, budget, and timeline
- Assist in developing preliminary budgets, cashflows, and project schedules with target milestones
- Evaluate contracts and proposals and provide business-point feedback
Project & Construction Coordination
- Serve as a central point of contact between ownership, project teams, and vendors
- Track key milestones, budgets, and deliverables across multiple concurrent projects
- Prepare regular status updates summarizing completed work, upcoming activities, and open items
- Proactively flag risks and delays and help drive them to resolution
- Support project closeout, including punch list tracking and final documentation
Financial & Administrative
- Track expenses against budget, flag potential increases, and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Review invoices and change orders for reasonableness and accuracy
- Maintain organizational systems (trackers, files, reporting) that keep everything running smoothly
What We're Looking For
- Degree in architecture required (B.Arch, M.Arch, Building Science, or equivalent) — licensure or progress toward licensure is a plus but not required
- 5–7 years of experience in architecture, design management, or owner's representation
- Fluent in reading and interpreting full construction document sets — architectural, structural, and MEP — and comfortable marking them up (Bluebeam, or similar; Revit/AutoCAD familiarity a plus)
- Working knowledge of the design and construction process from schematic design through closeout, including budgets, schedules, RFIs, and change management
- Extremely organized and self-directed — comfortable managing trackers and follow-ups without hand-holding
- Clear, professional written communication for client-facing correspondence
- Comfortable working remotely and independently
Growth Path
This role starts part-time (around 15 hours/week) with real responsibility from day one. For the right person, hours grow with the workload — and the role grows into leading day-to-day management of flagship accounts within the first year. If you're an architect looking to move to the owner's side, or a design professional who enjoys the strategic and management side of projects more than production, this role is for you.
