Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Receptionist/Administrative Assistant to support our chiropractic and physical therapy practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient service. This role involves managing front desk operations, coordinating appointments, and providing essential administrative support to ensure smooth clinic functioning.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and facilitate check-in/check-out processes with professionalism.
- Manage appointment scheduling using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks, ensuring efficient calendar management.
- Handle medical billing and collections accurately, including insurance verification and processing claims through systems like Athenahealth or similar platforms.
- Maintain meticulous medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Answer multi-line phone systems with courteous phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages when necessary.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing electronic health records (EHR) to support clinical staff effectively.
- Support clinic operations by coordinating supplies, managing office inventory, and ensuring a clean and organized front desk environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical office administration or as a medical receptionist within a healthcare setting such as chiropractic or physical therapy clinics.
- Familiarity with EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of medical coding procedures including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 codes, Medicare billing processes, and insurance verification protocols.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and electronic health information management.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations; bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience in medical billing or healthcare administrative support is highly desirable.
