This is a commission-only opportunity to build an independent financial planning practice on the platform of one of the top-performing firms in the MassMutual network, headquartered in Midtown Manhattan.

What "complete autonomy" actually means here
We say autonomy, so here is exactly what we mean — no vague promises:
- You own the book. Your clients are your clients.
- You set the schedule. Nobody is tracking your chair time. We track results.
- You choose the niche. Physicians, litigators, tech equity comp, small business owners, first-generation wealth — build the practice you actually want to run.
- You choose the solutions. Open architecture means the recommendation is driven by the plan, not by a quota on one product.
- You decide how big this gets. Solo practitioner, team builder, multi-advisor firm — all three exist under our roof today.
Autonomy cuts both ways, and we'll be honest about it: nobody will make you do the work. The advisors who thrive here are the ones who don't need to be made to.
Compensation:
- This role is 100% commission-based (commissions, renewals, advisory fees, and bonuses). There is no base salary.
- Experienced, licensed advisors may qualify for a start-up compensation package to bridge the transition. If you're already producing, tell us — this is a real, negotiable conversation, not a bait line.
- Your income is a function of your activity, your market, and your discipline. Top producers here earn at levels that are simply not available in salaried roles. We won't quote you a number in a job ad, because anyone who does is selling you something.
- Full suite of benefits available, including health coverage options, retirement plan, and a defined-benefit pension available to qualifying advisors through MassMutual.

Licensing — who we're looking for:
Preferred (you can produce on day one):
- Life, Accident & Health (LAH) license
- SIE and Series 6 or Series 7
- Series 63, 65, or 66
- 1+ years in financial services, insurance, or advisory production
Also welcome (you're coachable and you'll go get them):
- You hold some of the above and are willing to pursue the rest — we sponsor and support exam preparation
- Career-changers from law, accounting, medicine, sales, or business ownership with an established professional network and the work ethic to rebuild from scratch

- Anyone who needs a lead list handed to them every Monday
- Anyone who wants a base salary with commission upside
- Anyone looking for a 40-hour week in year one
What you'll actually do:
- Prospect. Relentlessly, professionally, and every single week — networking, referrals, centers of influence, and the lead-generation and targeted-marketing tools we provide.
- Run discovery meetings that get to what a client actually cares about, not just what they own.
- Build comprehensive plans across the six pillars and present them clearly enough that a client can act on them.
- Implement solutions — insurance, investments, retirement, business and executive benefits.
- Serve clients for decades, not transactions. Reviews, referrals, and second- and third-generation relationships are how practices here compound.
- Keep clean, compliant records and stay current on regulation and product.
- Use the firm's training, mentorship, and joint-work opportunities aggressively. Our development programs are taught by some of the most successful advisors in the country, and our sales leadership does one-on-one joint work in the field.

Details:
- Job Type: Full-time, commission-only (independent contractor)
- Location: Midtown Manhattan — hybrid; you're expected in the field and in the office for training, joint work, and team meetings
- Schedule: You set it. Client-facing hours will include some evenings.
