Job Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Assembler to join our manufacturing client's production team. This role supports increased customer demand and offers exposure to both mechanical and electrical assembly in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, BOMs, and work instructions
- Assemble mechanical and electrical components to customer specifications using hand tools and power tools
- Solder cables, wires, and through-hole devices to acceptable quality standards
- Operate pass/fail test equipment and inspect finished products for non-conformances
- Identify and report defects or process issues to supervisors and quality staff
- Adjust, repair, or replace faulty components to ensure optimal performance
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace in accordance with 5S standards
- Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures and protocols
- Provide feedback on assembly procedures and support continuous process improvement
- Support and mentor Level I assemblers as experience grows
Required Qualifications
- Previous assembly experience preferred, 1+ YOE for level 1, 3-5 YOE for level 2
- Must pass ITAR compliance
- Ability to read assembly drawings and work instructions (English required)
- Proficient with hand tools and power tools; high attention to detail and precision
- Familiarity with ESD principles, 5S standards, and basic QMS concepts (ISO 9001 a plus)
- Experience with opto-electronics, PCB commodities, or lean manufacturing environments a plus
- IPC soldering certification preferred (IPC-610)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills across functions
