Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on heavy trucks, trailers, and industrial equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
- Diagnose mechanical issues involving transmissions, hydraulics, suspensions, brakes, air systems, and electrical components with precision.
- Conduct welding, fabrication, and assembly tasks to repair or modify equipment as needed.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools efficiently for repairs including tire service, shocks & struts replacement, and alignment adjustments.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other farm or industrial equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and repairs performed in compliance with company standards.
- Support the team by performing vehicle systems diagnostics and troubleshooting automotive electrical systems for trucks and other vehicles.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a fleet or heavy equipment mechanic with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, HVAC systems, suspension components, and vehicle electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics for complex repairs.
- Skilled in welding, fabrication techniques including soldering and heavy lifting operations.
- Familiarity with service technician procedures for vehicle maintenance including brake repair, tire service, alignment, shocks & struts replacement.
- Experience working with various machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts (including power tools), farm machinery or similar industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to heavy truck repair including air brake systems and hydraulic safety standards.
