Job Description
CWS Health is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) for a 13-week travel or local assignment in Rochester, NY. This opportunity is ideal for LPNs with recent acute care experience who are comfortable managing patient assignments with RN support in a fast-paced Med/Surg-Telemetry environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Perform vital signs, pain assessments, intake/output monitoring, and patient observations.
- Administer medications via oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear and eye routes.
- Perform IV therapy using infusion pumps.
- Monitor telemetry and perform 12-lead EKGs.
- Manage feeding tubes and oxygen administration via nasal cannula.
- Insert and manage Foley catheters and collect clean-catch urine specimens.
- Perform basic wound care, dressing changes, and manage JP/Hemovac drains.
- Monitor blood glucose levels and assist with patient hygiene and mouth care.
- Communicate patient status changes promptly to the RN and physician.
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC.
Job Requirements
- Active New York State LPN License
- BLS Certification Required
- EPIC charting experience required
- Must have recent Acute Care experience within the last 2 years
- Must be able to independently manage a patient assignment with RN support
- Experience in Med/Surg and Telemetry settings preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills
