TITLE: Teacher Assistant (Reach Associate)
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
All applicants must upload a resume and one of the following to qualify:
- College transcript showing a degree was earned.
- College transcript showing at least 48 or more college level courses completed (CCS does not count any remedial/pre-requisite courses).
- College transcript showing at least 24 or more college level courses completed (CCS does not count any remedial/pre-requisite courses) plus WorkKeys Assessment with passing scores in these three areas: (1) Workplace Documents (Reading) – score of 4 or better, (2) Business Writing – score of 3 or better, and (3) Applied Mathematics – score of 4 or better.

REPORTS TO: Principal and Assigned Teacher(s)
JOB GOAL: To support the teacher in the teaching-learning process for students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports the implementation of reach extension by providing instructional and non-instructional support to a team of teachers under the direction of the Multi-Classroom Leader (MCL).
- Supervises students during independent projects, skills practice, and digital learning activities.
- Provides small-group and individual instruction to reinforce learning and support student achievement.
- Assists teachers with administrative tasks, recordkeeping, and other non-instructional responsibilities.
- Completes required paperwork and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manages classroom procedures and routines to promote an orderly learning environment.
- Supervises and monitors student behavior during instructional periods as directed by the teacher.
- Oversees student transitions, lunch, recess, assemblies, and other unstructured activities to ensure student safety and appropriate behavior.
- Supports teachers by maintaining effective classroom management while instruction is being delivered.
- Collaborates with the Multi-Classroom Leader and assigned teachers to support instructional goals and meet the needs of students.
- Performs other duties as assigned in support of the school's instructional program.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.
Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required.
Must possess a valid driver's License.
