What You Should Know About the EKG Technician:

Hours vary. Typical Department hours are 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Weekend required. This position does not take call.

This position is based within Jefferson Regional Cardiology Department
Job Summary:
The EKG Technician is responsible for performing electrocardiograms to measure and record the electrical activity of the heart using a 12 lead EKG machine. This role involves preparing the patients, operating EKG equipment, and ensuring accurate and timely results. The technician works closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high quality patient care.
EKG Technician Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of an EKG technician program preferred.

BLS/CPR required upon hire or obtained within 30 days of hire.

EKG Technician certification preferred.

Minimum Requirements:

Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work in a team oriented environment as well as independently

Preferred Requirements

Basic EKG knowledge preferred

Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy related to cardiac function a plus.
