Job Summary.
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly aftercare teacher to assist students ages 5-12 with homework, transport them from school, and plan fun activities. The role involves managing a small group of students during the hours of 2-6:00pm. The ideal candidate should be kind, knowledgeable, helpful, and dependable. Additionally, the candidate must have a cleared criminal background check, CPR/First Aid certification, and a cleared physical and TB test.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement craft activities and fun learning experiences
- Create a supportive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and active participation.
- Utilize behavior management techniques to maintain a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance and classroom activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices
Skills
- Experience working with students in various settings (classroom, summer camp, tutoring).
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and child safety practices.
- Strong background in behavior management techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and parents alike.
- Creativity in developing lesson plans that capture student interest and facilitate learning.
