Diamond Systems Corporation (www.diamondsystems.com) is a US-based manufacturer of embedded computer boards and systems whose products are used in industrial, medical, military, and scientific applications around the world. We have an immediate opening for project buyer for our line of computer systems and ethernet switches. The product line includes both standard and customer-specific designs.
This person is responsible for managing all activities related to the purchasing of components, materials, and services for this product line, including both local and offshore contract manufacturers and suppliers. This includes sourcing components, developing vendor relations, managing schedules (new orders, push-outs, pull-ins), reporting status, managing PO schedules, managing and resolving invoicing and other issues, cost reduction, implementing leadtime reduction / safety stock programs, and similar related activities. Additional responsibilities include purchasing and planning for the company’s other product lines as time permits.
In this central position, you will work closely with all members of the manufacturing, sales, engineering, and document control teams.
Job Functions
¨ Act as single point of contact for all issues related to the purchasing of circuit boards, components, enclosures, materials, and services for computer systems
¨ Manage the production schedule of computer systems and communicate with sales and engineering teams about required actions, due dates, ship dates, etc. to ensure the timely completion of assembly and shipment of customer orders
¨ Maintain accurate purchase order data in our manufacturing software
¨ Other duties normally associated with electronics components purchasing
¨ 5 or more years in electronics manufacturing
¨ Experience with ISO9000 or other quality system
¨ Thorough understanding of electronics manufacturing technologies and processes
¨ Thorough understanding of manufacturing planning methods
¨ Experience with purchasing of related commodities
¨ Excellent computer skills, especially spreadsheets
Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
