Early Childhood Substitute Teacher / Assistant Teacher
Part-time with full day availability required. Must be willing to travel up to 20 miles for an assignment.
**MUST BE WILLING TO WORK IN MINNEAPOLIS PROPER**
We are hiring reliable substitutes who want part-time work but can commit to being available for full-day shifts multiple days per week throughout the year. This is not a summer-only or occasional-hours position.
Minimum Qualifications (Must Meet):
- 2,080 hours as an aide or student intern
- 12 quarter credits (8 semester credits) in Early Childhood Education per DHS/DCYF
- Age 18+
- Reliable transportation
Job Overview:
Work in licensed childcare centers with children birth to age five. Assist or lead infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms depending on qualifications. You must be able to adapt to different centers and follow each center’s routines and expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage children in daily routines
- Follow lesson plans and classroom procedures
- Maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment
- Support staff and communicate professionally
- Accept and complete scheduled assignments
- Follow all center and state guidelines
Job Expectations:
- Manage your availability online
- Work 8 or more shifts each month
- Show up on time and complete assigned shifts
- Follow directions and adapt to different classrooms
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Lift up to 25 lbs and stand/sit for long periods

Schedule and Pay:
- Part-time, full-day availability needed
- Work 8 or more shifts each month
- 8–40 hours per week
- $18–$23 per hour depending on experience and qualifications

- Work in person at various childcare centers
