Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive science curricula that incorporate hands-on experiments, digital resources, and inquiry-based learning strategies.
- Design lesson plans that integrate assessment-driven instruction to monitor student progress and tailor interventions accordingly.
- Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) to organize coursework, track student performance data, and facilitate communication with students and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, curriculum planning, and sharing best practices in classroom management and instructional design.
- Conduct student assessments regularly to evaluate understanding, identify learning gaps, and implement targeted academic interventions within Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques, conflict resolution, and fostering an inclusive environment for all learners.
- Support students with diverse needs by applying special education strategies, working with individuals with disabilities, and adapting lessons for early childhood education standards when appropriate.
Skills
- Strong expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional design tailored for middle school learners.
- Proficiency in using LMS platforms and learning technology tools to enhance classroom engagement and streamline assessments.
- Experience teaching science subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, or earth sciences at the middle school level.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, literacy education, math integration, and physical education basics relevant to young adolescents.
- Ability to analyze student performance data through quantitative analysis methods to inform instruction and measure progress effectively.
- Familiarity with educational compliance regulations, assessment standards, and best practices in classroom management.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging students, collaborating with colleagues, advising parents, and participating in teacher teams.
- Experience working with children in various settings including private schools or preschool environments is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior proactively while fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
- Skills in tutoring or providing academic advising tailored to individual student needs; experience working with students with disabilities or special education requirements is highly valued.
