Position Summary
The Head of Training Center owns the day-to-day operations, financial performance, and growth of Gold Coast Training Center, a 4,800 sq ft turf and fitness facility in Wilton, CT. The facility is the home of Gold Coast Lacrosse Club and serves the broader Fairfield County youth sports community.
This is a hands-on leadership role: the Head of Training Center is responsible for filling the building, building programs that drive recurring revenue, managing a small staff, and creating an experience that keeps families coming back. The role works closely with club leadership to ensure the facility supports the lacrosse program while operating as a standalone revenue-generating business.
Core Responsibilities
Business performance
- Own the P&L for the training center; build and manage an annual operating budget
- Set and hit monthly revenue, utilization, and membership targets
- Identify and launch new revenue streams (clinics, camps, leagues, private training packages, rentals, birthday parties, adult programming, corporate)
- Report weekly KPIs to ownership (revenue, bookings, hours sold, new vs. returning, churn)
Operations and facility
- Oversee daily facility operations: scheduling, cleaning, maintenance, equipment, safety, vendor management
- Manage scheduling software, POS, CRM, and member systems; improve where needed
- Ensure the facility is always presentable, safe, and on-brand
Sales, marketing, and community
- Drive top-of-funnel growth through local partnerships (schools, club teams, fitness pros), referrals, and grassroots marketing
- Own social media, email, and website content for the training center
- Convert leads, manage tours and trials, and onboard new members/families
- Build relationships with parents and athletes; respond quickly to feedback and complaints
People
- Hire, schedule, train, and manage trainers, coaches, instructors, and front-desk staff
- Build a culture of accountability and customer obsession
- Coordinate with Gold Coast Lacrosse Club staff on shared resources, calendars, and athlete development pathways
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of operations or management experience in sports, fitness, youth athletics, hospitality, or a similar customer-facing business
- Demonstrated track record growing revenue or membership in a service business
- Strong organizational, communication, and people-management skills
- Comfortable with scheduling, POS, and CRM tools (Mindbody, Upper Hand, TeamSnap, LeagueApps, Square, etc.)
- Available for the 12pm–8/9pm weekday schedule and some weekends
Preferred
- P&L ownership experience
- Familiarity with training/fitness/youth sports/club/travel sports culture
- Background in sales, marketing, or community building
- Bachelor's degree
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
