Project Partners is seeking an experienced Construction Manager/Resident Engineer with extensive wastewater facility construction experience to support major public projects in the Fountain Valley area. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior construction professional to gain highly sought-after public sector experience overseeing critical wastewater infrastructure improvements.
This position is full-time and on-site (approximately 40 hours per week) supporting complex capital improvement projects, including the:
- Plant 1 Headworks Replacement Project
- Liftstation and Sewer System Rehabilitation and Replacement
The selected candidate will play a key leadership role managing construction contractor activities, coordinating with contractors and public agencies, and ensuring successful project delivery for wastewater facilities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Manager/Resident Engineer, you will:
- Lead construction management activities for wastewater treatment plant and related infrastructure projects
- Implement and enforce project Quality Plans and ensure contract compliance
- Review and respond to RFIs, RFCs, submittals, commissioning plans, and change orders
- Prepare engineer’s estimates and assist with contract administration
- Coordinate with contractors, designers, testing agencies, utilities, and public agencies
- Monitor construction schedules, project progress, and field activities
- Maintain accurate project documentation and prepare progress reports
- Support substantial completion and final acceptance processes
- Serve as the primary on-site representative for the client
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 8+ years of construction experience involving wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, or related public infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of construction plans, specifications, and contract administration
- Experience managing municipal or public works construction projects
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Preferred: Experience using Procore, Primavera P6, or similar construction management software
- Valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
- Must be able to commute to Fountain Valley, CA. Relocation assistance is not provided.
