Carroll County Public Schools | 11-Month Contract Position | 4 Days/Week
About the Position

- Provide services in schools, homes, and other natural environments throughout Carroll County
- Develop individualized therapy plans based on each child's developmental needs, strengths, and goals
- Address areas such as fine motor development, visual-motor skills, sensory processing, self-help skills, motor coordination, and participation in daily routines
- Provide developmentally appropriate, engaging, and child-centered therapy
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, special educators, speech-language pathologists, and other members of the child's team
- Participate in IEP meetings and other educational team meetings as appropriate
- Communicate with families and educational staff regarding progress and strategies to support the child's development
- Complete evaluations, progress reports, treatment notes, and other required documentation
- Manage your daily schedule and caseload with a high level of independence
- Travel between assigned schools and homes as needed
What We're Looking For
- Current Maryland Occupational Therapist license (OTR/L)
- Pediatric experience preferred
- Experience with young children, developmental delays, autism, sensory processing, or fine motor development is a plus
- Someone who is organized, dependable, flexible, and comfortable working independently
- A therapist who enjoys building relationships with children and families
- Someone who communicates well and enjoys collaborating with other professionals
- Strong documentation and time-management skills
- Someone who is comfortable traveling between locations and providing services in both school and home settings
- Most importantly, someone who genuinely likes working with young children and wants to make a difference!
Why Work With Spectrum Speech Therapy?
At Spectrum, we want our therapists to have the best of both worlds: independence in their work and a supportive team behind them.
You'll have a great deal of autonomy in your day-to-day work. You will be trusted to manage your schedule, organize your caseload, plan your therapy, and use your clinical judgment to determine what works best for each child.
At the same time, you won't be working alone. You'll be part of a growing team of speech-language pathologists and other professionals who value collaboration, communication, and supporting one another.
The Birth to K program also provides the opportunity to work with children during some of their most important developmental years, while partnering closely with families and educational teams.
If you're an OT who enjoys variety, independence, flexibility, and working with young children, we'd love to hear from you!
