Registered Pharmacist
Location: Toppenish, WA 98948
Pay Rate: $68+ Travel stipends if applicable
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM 6:30 PM (Pacific Time)
Contract Length: 1 year with the option to extend
- Federal contract in bidding process open for locals and travelers
Job Description:
The Pharmacist will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care in support of patient safety for an IHS facility. This role supports outpatient and/or inpatient pharmacy operations while ensuring compliance with federal regulations, clinical standards, and facility policies.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy program
- Active, current, and unrestricted Pharmacist license in any U.S. state or territory
- Current CPR and/or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Active Liability Insurance
- Ability to meet IHS credentialing and background requirements
Responsibilities:
- Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications in accordance with federal regulations and facility policies
- Provide medication counseling and education to patients and caregivers
- Ensure accurate medication order entry and documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Monitor drug therapies for appropriateness, interactions, allergies, and adverse reactions
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize medication therapy and patient outcomes
- Maintain compliance with federal, facility, and pharmacy practice standards
- Support inventory management, medication storage, and controlled substance procedures
Pay: $68.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
