As a Facility Technician position at Horizon, you will…
- Perform general repairs including plumbing, electrical, floor covering, painting, wall repairs and seasonal needs.
- Troubleshoot all building systems to proactively maintain building operations.
- Coordinate with vendor and subcontractors
- Complete all appropriate paperwork.
- Take direction from the Property Manager on issues concerning property management and maintenance. Manages productivity and daily job responsibilities
- Perform cleaning, repairing, maintaining, constructing, renovating, demolishing, and moving building systems as needed. Ensures that building meets all appropriate compliance.
- Perform universal precautions and uses personal protective equipment, follows all OSHA, DOH and building regulations.
- Perform regulatory building audits, inspections, maintains reports and tracking systems to provide a safe and healthy environment for all clients and staff.
- Manage a preventative maintenance program for building systems.
- Provide oversight of all exterior property conditions
- Additional duties may be required, but are not limited to the following: renovation projects including alterations of walls, carpentry, drywall, electrical, doors, ceilings, plumbing, floor covering and paint
- Communicate effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Navigate and utilize computer-based work order system.

We can’t wait to learn more about you! Here are a few specifics of what you’ll need for the job:
- Previous maintenance experience required.
- Open to specialties including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, patch work, HVAC, home repairs, etc.
- Experience in cleaning, repairing, maintaining, constructing, renovating, demolishing, and moving building systems.
- A clean, valid, NYS driver’s license, three years of driving experience, and reliable transportation to travel locally on a regular basis.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Location
This position is location at 291 Elm St, Buffalo NY.
Position Hours
This position is full-time, Tuesday - Saturday from 7:00am - 2:00pm.
Compensation
Horizon is consistently evaluating our compensation and benefit packages to ensure we remain competitive. The range of pay for this position is $18.82 - $20.84. Starting pay may be impacted based on experience and education. Compensation adjustments are evaluated annually.
Physical demands associated with this position include:
- Stationary posture, alternating between standing and sitting
- Ascending/descending on various structures (e.g. ladders)
- Local travel between worksites
- Operating machinery/power tools and occasional operation of company owned motor vehicles and heavy equipment
- Lifting objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds
- Exposure to various environmental conditions including low/high temperatures, and outdoor elements
