Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers to transport freight across various routes. Your expertise in driving different types of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks, will ensure timely deliveries and exceptional service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with a valid CDL A license, including manual transmission vehicles, across designated routes.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Drive a variety of trucks such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, roll-off trucks, and dump trucks based on shipment requirements.
- Manage route driving responsibilities with precision, adhering to schedules and traffic regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL A license.
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently.
- Experience handling various freight types including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and freight requiring load & unload procedures.
- Prior delivery driver experience preferred, with a focus on route driving and timely deliveries.
- Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus for handling freight at loading/unloading sites.
