Job Overview
We are looking for a personable and attentive Busser/Host to join our front-of-house team at our restaurant Blueberry Hill Market Cafe in New Lebanon, NY. This combined role is essential to delivering a smooth, welcoming dining experience — from greeting guests at the door to keeping the dining room clean and ready for the next table. The right candidate is organized, professional, and takes pride in providing excellent hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival in a warm, professional manner
- Manage the seating chart and communicate wait times accurately
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus as needed
- Clear, clean, and reset tables promptly between seatings
- Assist servers by refilling water, removing finished plates, and running items as needed
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the host stand and dining room
- Coordinate with kitchen and serving staff to manage table flow effectively
- Answer incoming calls and assist with reservation inquiries
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and courteous during busy service periods
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and carry bussing equipment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
